Julia Crew 'An investigation into developing a new ethical accessories brand, and range of products, for men'

University of the Arts, London - London College of Fashion
BA Hons Product Design and Development for the Fashion Industries
Year 3

The issues of sustainability and ethics in business, both socially and environmentally, have become a major topic in the UK, especially within the fashion industry. However, market research and observations show that take- up has been much quicker and more accepted within women's fashion. Men, it seems, are more skeptical when it comes to the claims of ‘ethical' companies.

Through this project, Julia has designed and made products that appeal to male consumers primarily on the levels of style and functionality, but are made using alternative eco materials including organic cotton, hemp, cork and recycled leather.
