I learnt Mandarin too...got a long way to go but such a fascinating language right! Im planning to go back to do a chinese school from september..but anyway welcome to the group and to the site....what are you planning to do in ethical fashion??
Hi Kate, thanks for the hint of the Africa group. We need more of this.
I used to implement warehousing software solutions for a UK based software company, also in Shangai. Implementing softwares follows very strict procedures and project plans. Interestingly seem to be the chinese the only who understand this after the first implementation round. So no more need for a western specialist like me. Other countries and inparticular the continent i am in at the moment needs much more support and explanations again and again. Keeps us busy!
Hi Kate!
Thanks for the mention on the Africa group!
It seems I might not get involved with the NGO I mentioned, as they are not 100% sure they want to implement the sewing/design skills training at the moment...therefore I am most definitely looking for something else to get involved with!!
Hi kate, thanks for your message.
I no longer edit the magazine but you should definitely get them to join, even more so because they inaugurated a kenyan edition of African Woman this year.
I now work as a consultant for the ITC, identifying and documenting Ethical Fashion - related communities in Eastern and Western Africa...
Hi Kate
Thank you for your advice for am looking for connections in Africa specially in Ghana I heard of beautiful fabrics and lots more I can't wait to be part of the Ghana group.
Hi Kate
Thanks for the message. I'm actually based in between Nairobi and Zurich and just joined the forum. My company, Savannah Chic provides opportunities for African designers to showcase their products at trade shows across Europe. We've found that e-links are great but often not enough to persuade retailers to take the plunge and place an order. Would be great to know your thoughts!
yes Kate it was fantastic , i found it so helpful darling and can't wait for the next one this month, thats why i am hope i can get the free table to showcase some things of KC.so I have sent a blurb as requested by Dani.
how are you doing my dear, hope good. well hope we get to meet again soon and chat more darling.
take care

I am not sure what happened to my account. The system made me sign up again so I am on there twice now... strange. Could you maybe check and let me know what I can do? I signed up with my new e-mail lisiprem@gmail.com last week, but when I tried to log on again, the password was rejected. I requested a new one and was guided through setting up a whole new account!
Thanks so much,
Anne-Liese
Hello Kate,
Thank you for the welcome. Will you be attending the Clothes Show Ghana in October?. We are waiting for more information before booking our ticket. We'll also be in Kenya for several weeks in Dec - Jan.
Kate,
Thanks for the contact. Sorry you won't be able to go. It sounds like a really fun event.
Do you know Ghana at all?
Just a thought, too... do you know of the ARISE magazine? I think it's British. I just discovered it, but hear it was around or comming out from an article in Women's Wear Daily.
thanks again!
