Profile:
A development expert with over 10 years experience in management and execution of livelihood development programmes. Knowledgeable in business management training, with a passion for product development delivered under the support of Non Governmental Organizations (NGOs) and Community Based Organizations (CBOs). A bigger part of the above experience is with small-scale enterprises in the manufacturing sector. I hold a good understanding of dynamics of international trade, its implication on local production and how to strategize around the same to carve a share of the global market. My focus is on promoting productivity among producers in the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (MSMEs) sector. This is through provision of leadership, information, and business development skills, as a means of attaining the sector’s competitiveness and by extension socio-economic development.

2009 Consulted by Ministry of Industrialization in collaboration with DANIDA, WIFIP and KIRDI as lead consultant to develop capacities of cottage industries in Nyanza Province.
2009 Consulted by Japan International Cooperation Agency and the Export promotion Council to conduct training on Export Marketing for Exporters
2008 Consulted by Export Promotion Council and DANIDA to execute a product development and marketing programme for commercial crafts producers in Coastal, North and North Eastern Regions of Kenya
2007 Consulted by African Institute for Capacity Development (AICAD) to train Exporters of commercial crafts on Product Development and Marketing
2007 Appointed by the Export Promotion Council to conduct a Producer-groups Baseline Survey for the establishment of Export Production Villages in the North-rift, Western and Eastern regions of Kenya including the coastal province

Work Experiences
Programme Management
2006-8 Technical Adviser and Team Leader - Juakali Artisans, Urban Youth and University Students Integrated Empowerment Programme. The programme was an initiative of Terra Nuova and Amref Kenya co-financed by the European Commission that aimed at achieving socio-economic competencies among marginalized communities.
Key Responsibilities
1. Coordinate overall programme development, planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting according to the European Commission guidelines.
2. Responsible for the institutional and management structures required for effective implementation of the programme that include:
• Designing management systems and procedures in human resources, finance, procurement and logistics
• Strategic planning and implementation of the programme and management of grants to ensure efficiency and that set goals and objectives are achieved according to proposed timelines and within laid budgets
• Coordination of logistics and ensuring timely procurement schedules and proper storage, making sure that programme assets are well maintained
• Consultation with key programme partners
• Promote micro small and medium enterprises through development of networks and partnerships with national/regional/international institutions and spearheading donor collaboration, fundraising and programme development
• Coordinating programme activities including preparation of training manuals, implementation of research studies and preparation of related-documentation and dissemination
• Promotion and dissemination of programme achievements
