Nakate is an accessories company providing unique designs from Ugandan artisans to fashion conscious women.

Design Position:

To assist in developing the next collection, beginning with drawing concepts and assisting through the spring season until designs are completed, sourced from Uganda and integrated into a lookbook and line sheet. Ideal candidate should be interested in establishing a career in jewellery design, with experience in beaded jewellery, including such experience as: indigenous patterns, paper beads, necklaces, bracelets and cow horn.

They are also interested in working with a designer who has connections to sourcing in Kenya for handbags, shoes and cow horn pieces.

Skills required:

Attention to detail, positive attitude, personal integrity, interest in African fashion and culture. Hands on jewellery design. Familiarization with fashion trends.

Preferred experience:

Retail experience, particularly in global jewellery. Travel to Africa, familiarity with paper material, cow horn and other East African materials.
