Designers affect the face and feel of our every day. The No Kak Campaign calls for the application of smart design ideas to ensure a better quality of life, one without waste, without pollution and without harm.
Recognizing that designers are a natural link between manufacturers and consumers, this initiative aims to highlight the influence that designers have on social, environmental and economic development.
The No Kak Campaign has big plans for 2010. Not only will the competition categories be expanded to include various design practises (no longer limited to textile and fashion applications) it’s also opening its arms to include emerging designers (as well as students across the country, as for previous competitions). Possibly the most exciting development is the Fresh Talent Workshop featuring recognized South African and Scandinavian design talent as facilitators, which will be held following the competition final.
More information about the No Kak Eco Design Competition and Fresh Talent Workshop will be made available early in 2010.
Right now, you’re encouraged to visit the campaign’s new home on the web and participate in spreading the good news! There is a solution – and you’re a part of it!
