Trading for Development aiming to promote activities related to textiles, is participating  on
the First Meeting of Weavers from the Americas, that will take place from
October 1st to 5th in the city of Cusco (Peru).

Cusco will host the First
Meeting of Weavers from the Americas, where weavers and textile art scholars
from America will get together to create a forum for exchanging knowledge,
experience and interaction.

The activities of this event are diverse, and
these will include presentations made by weavers, workshops, and lectures.  At
the same time, there will be other related events that will occur during the
week, which include dying and textile techniques, exhibitions, and video
screenings among others.

The organizers have confirmed the participation
of 20 weaving groups from Argentina, Chile, Bolivia, Ecuador, United States,
Venezuela, Mexico, and Peru.
