Where: University of Southampton - Building 44
A student and early career professionals one-day workshop to discuss the future of ethical fashion and ways to facilitate change in the industry.
This day-long event is intended to bring together researchers and practitioners to discuss the current dimensions, issues and politics of global clothing production and consumption
Fashion is now a global industry, drawing practitioners and academics from the world of fashion, business, social science, international development and economic policy. The demand for fast fashion has resulted in unsustainable mass-marketing of cheap clothes in many cases sourced from factories and regions with poor labour rights practices, regulation and environmental awareness.
This one-day workshop aims to synthesize the professional and academic worlds to discuss the dynamics of ethical retailing into the future.
