About me / About business or organisation:

I am a final year student at Manchester Metropolitan University on the Ba (Hons) Embroidery programme. I am passionate about sustainable design and hope to progress to study in this area as a post graduate student. My current work aims to deal with the impact of clothing upon ones body and the environment. It deals with the issue of where clothing ends and the skin surface begins and questions when the clothing becomes part of the body and what exists in the space between. Drawing inspiration from any natural form, texture or colour; I focus on the impact placed upon the environment to create the garment and the comfort and wellbeing of the wearer. I want to further this study and produce a body of work, which highlights any possible health benefits from wearing clothing made from natural and ethical fabrics and dyes.
