Hi David,
At our school the students only use about 1m to 3m with their final garments that they make for GCSE or A-level each. So any orders we make would be very small.
If we ever get bags of scraps that would otherwise be thrown away, we always use them as well, of any type of fabric, we are not fussy!! These are especially useful for doing small samples of decoration for projects.
What do you think?

Hey David -

I'm looking to better understand the production of products that I use in my practice, so I can make more informed decisions—I'm an artist, and I work a lot with paper, and paint and found objects. I came across this site - a friend who works in sustainable fashion with ROGAN and LOOMSTATE and her own line suggested it, since I haven't found that many artists discussing materials in the same way.

Hi david,
Well i know that DRC is best known for the Kuba textile designed by Kuba people. Is that the one you are talking about?

Btw I just discovered about the tartans for Africa initiative. That's fantastic

Thank you for that welcome, David. I like your tartan sheep. I'd like to find out more about tartans for Africa. And wonder if you know - Does anyone make tartan from organic wool? This is all new to me - the world of textiles, living in Scotland - very exciting. Veronica

Hi David. I'm very interested in what you do too! Please come along to my Degree Show at the Glasgow School of Art. Some of my prints will have a woven/striped effect. I'm doing lots of hand applied processes including batik, and various different resist techniques. I will also be doing bold, colourful and quirky digital prints onto organic cottons.
