Hi Nicola,

I am glad to have found your profile, i am kick starting an initiative that has caught the attention on one of the most important organisations in Colombia looking after the craft market interest. The project aims to encourage and challenge the Colombian artisan communities to create products that meet European industry standards while preserving traditional craft techniques in conjunction with high end designers that have an interest in international development  and social responsibility . I am at the stage of catching the attention of the designers or brands interested in developing product and all together we can launch exciting series of  expeditions to Colombia to meet the artisan communities and explore the opportunities all together ! i went through your website and i suspect you may be in touch with potential interested designers or brands? perhaps yourself ? Let me know please. http://www.facebook.com/ColombianCrafts

With HM's consent I designed the Queens Diamond Jubilee tartan. It has been woven in wool, cotton, and silk, with Harris Tweed and cashmere in production. The design has attracted worldwide interest and will be used to produce high-end couture and accessories. I have already made it known that I would like aspiring designers and manufacturers to be involved in the various exhibitions and shows we have planned. Some of the proceeds from this project will be used to develop businesses for womens groups in Africa and India. I require to engage with someone skilled in product development and marketting. Are you interested?

Hi Nicola,

Coming to Nigeria in quest of locally woven textiles will be a fantastic experience! We have so many of them with intricate traditional and contemporary designs. Just let me know how long u plan to stay, so one can figure out the extent of seeing and doing u would be able to cope with during your stay. There are so many local weavers around; and you will luv ur coming.

All the best.

HI again,

Yeah a lot of the material is from Ivory Coast - wax print.  The stripey material and brown cotton is from Nigeria. Your job sounds very inspirational and empowering. Enjoy your next trip and you can definitely make a difference.

Hi Nicola, after trying very hard to find weavers/producers of cotton cloth in various African countries I was finally forced to order cloth from here in the UK to meet the deadline for our next Tartans for Africa fashion show. If you are able to find a producer in Nigeria or later in East Africa I'd be very grateful. Similarly if you come across any manufacturers I'd be interested
