Greenhouse work with organisations such as Greenpeace, Friends of the Earth, Julia Smith, the Green Party, Pure Design and many more.
- Career history / Company history:
- An environmental organisation since inception in 1993, both Directors, Timi van Houten and Ian Crossley, have extensive experience and knowledge in providing a more environmentally sensitive approach to graphic communications. We have been recognised in the Print Week National Awards as being one of the top six UK environmental printers, on three occasions.
In 2005 we became the only UK printer (and still are), to generate electricity from our own solar panels. In 2006 we brought all of our environmental initiatives under the branded name of "ecoprint-system4" (www.ecoprintsystem4.co.uk). In 2007, we were recognised by HAZRED as having hazardous waste free colour printing and were their national case study for the print sector. In 2009 we launched our biodegradable, reusable and recyclable banner range, made from materials including unbleached cotton and jute.
All of the senior management team have completed environmental training via Olive consulting. We are ISO14001 and FSC accredited.
The Directors have given numerous talks on sustainable business development in the UK and abroad and are considered leading experts on sustainable business practices within print and general business.
Last month, we launched our carbon labelling scheme, at UK Aware, for litho based products, to identify the carbon intensity of your printed pieces.
