Hi Laricea, Great to hear from you. Happy to help out with marketing etc. Kingston's not far from me, so I'm good to catch up over a coffee or in London where I tend to operate.
Hi Laricea - what a great name. I am sorting out my website at the moment. My business should go trial live in September this year. With reference to ethical fashion for men, I don't have much luck finding great styles or the right sizes - I think there is great market potential there but I prefer to design for women. I am in my middle years, 6' 3" tall and slim: generally ethical clothes are too baggy, or the waist is too big in proportion to the leg length. I contributed to a friend's Fairtrade Fashion event this year and designed a basic top made out of Fairtrade fashion leaflets. I would like to investigate spider spun "silk" as a material. Take care.
I like to use reclaimed fabrics when I can get them, including leather and plastics. My ethos is to say that every woman is fine as she is: if she wants to change herself then that is fine also. I have thin female friends and chubbier ones. I like to design clothes for real women.
this is a big question. would love to chat about it soon! got lots to do at the moment but keep reminding me.... should be around august. I have some opinions (whether they're interesting is another story!)
