YVIAN is an upcoming edgy ethical fashion label launched in September 2011 coinciding with the S/S 2012 London Fashion Week at the trendy Mauve Lounge in London. It is created by Yva Alexandrova who studied Fashion and Design at Central Saint Martins and combines her passion for innovative design and commitment to social justice.

Emerging from the cool flare of urban wear YVIAN creates stylish evening designs for the modern woman with confidence and individuality and a passion for the mystery of the night-­‐time.

The S/S 2012 collection is inspired by the structure, lines and fine embellishment of gothic architecture interpreted through a simplified urban aesthetic. The look is sharp and mysterious, while the embroidery of stylised sculptured images, provides exquisite detailing.

The highest quality of tailoring, fine finishing and hidden details ensure that the fit and feel are both flattering and chic. The silhouette is “just-­‐right” with often surprising elements achieved through the volume or texture of experimental fabrics.

YVIAN is a quality label founded on a sense of style as a contrast to the fast and disposable fashion of today. We recognise the global interconnectedness of our world and believe that working towards social and environmental justice is one of the defining challenges of our time. In this regard, we attach special attention to the production process and labour standards and have chosen a manufacturer in Bulgaria, which works according European labour protection and working conditions standards. Furthermore, the centralised production process ensures there is no subcontracting and outsourcing, which allows for continuous monitoring of the quality of production. YVIAN is also run as a social enterprise and any profit is re-­‐invested in the company’s sustainability efforts. As we grow our commitment is to work along the supply chain to affect as many aspects of it as possible, including, sourcing, production and distribution.
