Seattle Fashion Designer to release firt line of Steampunk swimwear EVER at Chance: Where the Art of Fashion Innovates

You heard right.

Seattle Fashion Design company Lastwear will be releasing the first line of steampunk swimwear EVER at an independent local production know as "Chance: Where the Art of Fashion Innovates." Chance is an event that was developed by Active Entertainment to be a networking resource for aspiring designers, photographers, models, hair stylists and makeup artists, giving them the resources and confidence needed to push forward in the Fashion Industry. Over the last year, the support of the Seattle Fashion Community has developed to such an extent that the producers of the Event have started branching outside of Seattle to produce Chance in neighboring cities such as Portland and San Francisco.

Lastwear featured at the One Year Anniversary of Chance in June, with designers Lucy Loves Ethel, Manifesto, Michelle Lateste, Poirier and Rene Ropa's. Of the 6 Seattle Fashion designers featured at the show, Lastwear was awarded "Featured Designer" of the month. Upon hearing the following month's show would feature acclaimed Seattle Swimsuit Designer Mac Fashion House, along with the first swimsuit lines by designer buddies Manifesto and Nuco Chic, the producer's of Lastwear started laying out concepts for the swimwear release.

The momentum of creativity was moving forward. Lastwear had recently launched a "Kickstarter program" in hopes to raise the funds to generate a higher level of production. The kickstarter program is basically an online forum that allows for a publicly displayed business proposal. You put items up for sale ranging from $10 - $1000, (depending on how you intend to lay it out) set an overall goal and a deadline, and if you reach the goal by the deadline, all the transactions go through.

In the last week of the deadline, Lastwear reached their goal, and the first Steampunk swimwear line went into production. Over the last year, Lastwear has showcased at Chance several times, each time with a different line of clothing. They have also produced event's through the Seattle area, bringing a more theatrical presentation into their runway showcases. Needless to say the Lastwear designers are avid supporters of the maker culture.

Chance is a growing independent production in the Seattle Fashion Scene. Recently endorsed by Tiffany Talent as well as Sammy LaForge, (Writer/VIdeo Producer for Cybersutra - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Iusjkb8PrhM&feature=related) this event is on the front lines in the battle to put Seattle on the map as an international Fashion Capitol. Believe it or not, Seattle Fashion is overwhelmed by independent designers bringing the Art of Fashion back into everyday culture.
