Shamanic Nights

new style Jerkin-dress is well liked at Unique Boutique xmas crafts fair, Exeter.

'Mulberry-Walnut' is joyously modelled by Boo before being discovered and bought by Val.

Jerkin uses recycled fabrics: plain marl tweed from trousers and red/ brown/ charcoal/ and gold multi-tartan from a Per Una skirt.

Pocket features fabric embroidery from original skirt.

Back features leather waist tab.

Buttons are black recycled glass made in Africa.

Main garment is constructed according to and limited to pre-existing shapes inherent in both trousers and a skirt.  Jerkin-dress is quite warm, being fully lined in recycled brown linen and heavy brown satin.    Extra weight of linen lining, side and back vent panels gives a good 'hang'.

Couldn't resist using the full flare of the flare vents from the original skirt.

Buttons with rouleau loop hold vent closed at top and can be undone for more ease, or larger size.

Collar, 'stand up' when buttoned,  uses a Vogue darted pattern which also makes it 'sit' well when down.

Val is very happy with her purchase.
