2009 was a pivotal year for the Ethical Fashion Forum (EFF)
I never thought that I would be inspired by an online social network- but this network inspires me every time I approve a new member.
It is incredible how many pioneering individuals – nearly 2500 in more than 70 countries- have joined this network. The combined body of your work can and will change the face of fashion- it already is changing lives for hundreds of people behind your companies and projects.
Some of our new – and inspiring – network members include Josy Spooner- producing exceptional fair trade belts in India, Camilla Wellton- showcasing a stunning collection on this site, MUHAMMAD AYYAZ UDDIN- check out his beautiful photos of traditional block printing and Shahid Hussain Shamim- showcasing weaving from Bangladesh of incredible intricacy.
Find and connect with any of these members and hundreds of others with a click of the mouse on the members page.
Now that the EFF has built an established and dedicated network of buyers and brands, our focus during 2010 is on building partnerships with ethical and fairtrade suppliers and supplier networks- all over the world, which can most benefit from links to market.
Our team will be spending time connecting with individuals and organisations which are supporting communities and changing lives. We have a particular focus on Africa- having seen what an impact fashion initiatives can have there- but also elsewhere in the world.
So , if you have inspiring stories to tell- please use this blog to broadcast them- we promote inspiring members and inspiring stories every month in our industry newsletter.
If you are connected with suppliers, networks, or other interested individuals, please encourage them to join. 2010 is the year for opening doors to market that will change lives…
