I am a world citizen, respecting the globe and humanity who happens to love fashion.
Career history / Company history:
I studied Theater costume design at the academie of Antwerp. I designed the costumes for a few theatre plays before I moved to The Gambia (west Afrika) where I was coördinating a fair trade tailoring workshop: Equigambia (www.equigambia.org). The aim of Equigambia is to give young, low educated women the opportunity to develop themselve and earn an stable income by sewing clothes and accessories.
Equigambia is now on his own feet, a company employing 14 people, selling their production in the Gambia. I started a webshop www.fair-a-porter.com to be able to sell the Equigambia collection on the European market. Recently I have moved to Tanzania where I am looking for other projects and fair trade products to sell and maybe to start an equitanzania?
