Although I trained in fashion and textiles and worked with fashion and interiors for many years, I eventually became an apprentice to a portrait painter and have been painting portraits professionally for the last 10 yrs (while my kids were small.)I also used an exhibition of my paintings to campaign for a death row prisoner in the US and that led me to a decision to want to use my creative skills as a benefit elsewhere. I am in the process of setting up of a profit sharing fashion company to empower rural women in India by offering training and designs for the international market. I have a partner in Delhi.
