I am environmentally passionate, and believe that new style can be recreated from old. Rather than landfill our beautiful planet with un eco-friendly fabrics, I prefer to buy second hand, recycled and upcycled fashions. Recycled outfits make fashion more sustainable, and fun.
My previous working history with a renowned worldwide international volunteer organisation ignited my passion and understanding of eco-travel, international development and environmental awareness. I worked for the organisation in the UK, afterwhich migrated to Australia, and founded the Australasian Melbourne office.
I have been fortunate enough to travel to many developing countries through Asia, South America, Africa and the South Pacific. I have experienced first hand how citizens of developing countries, and its environment are affected by our consumer driven society.
In 2010 I was nominated for an entry into Who’s Who of Australian Women, which explored the theme of 'Hope and Courage'. 'Hope and Courage' is a homage to achievement and the spirit of philanthropy. Who’s Who of Australian Women contains the biographical details and reflections of thousands of notable individuals.
In 2010, I started a ecofashion blog entitled and dedicated to recycled fashion. My blog showcases recycled fashion purchases, reviews organisations and venues which trade in recycled and upcycled fashion, upcycled fashion pieces, eco-style, ethical fashion, fair trade and general fashion chat.
I am currently working on a new Recycled Fashion retail venture.
