About me / About business or organisation:
iSwish is a clothes swapping site offering members the opportunity to swap ("swish") clothes, shoes & accessories for FREE online.
It is about making use out of items you are no longer wearing and swishing with other members for items that you will use. In turn it encourages you to upgrade your wardrobe and help the environment preventing landfill.
Our mission is to promote sustainability and encourage people to think twice about merely throwing and offering an alternative to seling. The site offers a free service to register and list and swap items. It then offers a Gold membership for loyal swishers to qualify for swapping with credits as well as items and additional add-on services.
Since we launched at the end of last year, we have seen site views reach nearly 30,000 and our 1500 membership base continues to grow daily, appealing to fashionistas, bargain hunters, young families, eco-conscious and students alike.
One of the initiatives that we are looking for support with is the iSwish designer initiative.
Our designer donation initiative involves designers, donating items to the "iSwish designer room" that then in turn are bought for credits by iSwish members, which are donated directly to non-profit organisation Dress For Success, for them to purchase items of need.
Career history / Company history:
Graduate of Psychology, 8 years as Regional director of Hays Plc and now director / co-owner of online sustainable clothing swap site.
