About me / About business or organisation:: Umoja is a fashion label with a conscience.

Mixing a designers everlasting love for fashion and a new found love for the breathtaking country of Tanzania, and its people.

Umoja believes fashion should look like fashion, therefore creates fabulous clothing to fashion focused people.

The limited pieces are created using as many fabrics and components scoured in Africa as possible. The products are beautifully hand crafted by SOKO. SOKO- providing fair employment to an impoverished community, improving quality of life through training, employment opportunities and improved social services.

Attempting to help a little in the fight to break the cycle of poverty while feeling passionate about creating prosperity for all people involved along the way.

Career history / Company history:: The initial concept for Umoja was sparked by a trip to Tanzania in 2010.

Umoja has been inspired by my personal love for the country of Tanzania.

Umoja was launched in May 2012 with all pieces fully manufactured by SOKO-Kenya
