About me / About business or organisation:
Severine was created in Kenya by French designer and model Severine Devailly. It is after spending holidays in the African country that the French woman realised the amazing opportunity that was facing her : Helping people whilst creating summer fashion.
Severine is a label dedicated to treat people who manufacture for the brand with respect and aims to upgrade the employe's lives by making sure everyone is paid a fare wage.
Severine uses the astonishing knowledge of Kenyan artisans to produce numerous ornaments such as key rings and rings. The label works closely with the Flip Flop Recycling company (FFR) which also creates accessories for the brand whilst helping the environment and freeing washed-up flip flops from the India ocean.

Severine designs showcased its spring summer 2013 collection in Africa fashion week London. The collection was a success with buyers as well as media, with coverage in magazines such as Vogue and African Woman.

For many years, Severine aspired to convey the traditional splendor of the Kenyan fabric Kikoy into contemporary and graceful ethical fashion: until 2013, when the French designer decided to say good bye to the ethnic textile to explore different fabrics and horizons.
Severine Devailly is now preparing the Spring Summer 2014 collection with Kenyan artisans as well as the Flip Flop recycling company. Besides promoting ethical ready-to-wear, Severine Devailly promotes an environment friendly approach to fashion and is designing the up-coming collection with organic fabric.
Career history / Company history:
Severine Devailly was immersed in the fashion world at only 18 whilst working for two years for the fabulous designer John Galliano in the heart of Paris.
While working in the capital of fashion, Severine Devailly was street-casted and became a part-time lingerie model. After two years working for the British designer and studying small business management, Severine Devailly decided to move to the United Kingdom to attend university in order to learn English.

Severine came to Kenya on holiday in 2006. Not only she fell in love with the amazing country but also it's glowing and vibrant fashion.
Inspired by local fabrics and Kenyan's pure talents, the French girl, at only 21, decided to move to the beautiful African country in order to create her own brand. The Severine label was born: promoting local artisans, ethical fashion but also recycling.

Severine Devailly is also pursuing her modeling career. She has worked for Kenyan hotels, designers and was chosen to be the face of the worldwide campaign for Marula Oil.
