A way to build my knowledge of the fashion world and the steps being taken to make it ethical and fairer...
About me / About business or organisation:
So about me...I'm a hard working and enthusiatic individual. I would like to think that I'm a good friend, kind and caring, understanding and a very good agony aunt. I'm definitely out going and easy to get on with. I love socialising and meeting new people!
I'm interested in the world, international development and education, as well as fashion!!! I'd love to work in the fashion industry but more toward the international development side of it...promoting awareness of the fashion related issues happening across the globe!!!
At present I work for DEA, an education charity, as their Education Projects Manager. I am the managing agent for the DFID Mini Grant for England as well as the European Commission Capacity Building Fund. Both give me the opportunity to see the work being carried out by numerous organisations to promote development and awareness of the Millennium Development Goals and build capacity on a local, regional, national and international level. It is truly a rewarding role...
Career history / Company history:
I've had a few jobs in different sectors...
I worked as Marketing Assistant & Office Manager for a recruitment agency, dealing with the UK and International marketing of the company, including design and creative work, as well as recruitment.
I went on to work for Robinson Sterling NYC Financial Services where I had a variety of roles - Mortgage Administrator / PA to Paul Chakrabarti/ Events Co-ordinator. Whilst here, I also took part in the organisation of many events including one for Polio Children!
Following that I was receptionist for Department for International Development, and from there I worked as a fulfilments specialist for NetNames Limited - a domain management company!!!
Now I work as Educatioon Projects Manager for DEA an education charity. I've been here since May 2008 and absolutely love my job here!!!

Hi Sej this is Udaya -- I have just come back from the hills above my village looking at nettle growing for the next season. I was in the army before and resigned as a full lieutenant. I wanted to do something for the development of Nepal and thought about developing Nepali yarns and textiles. That was 11 yrs ago. Glad you like the sites, we are developing new styles all the time so do keep checking back! Best, Udaya
Hello there Sej,
I have been working with natural fibres in Nepal for a long time now and can supply you with fibre, yarns, textiles, as well as finished goods. Please have a look at www.heavenhemp.co.uk and www.wildweaves.co.uk to get an idea of what we do. I work with hemp, nettle, cactus, banana, bamboo . I also have a small workshop where we make bags, clothing and rugs from natural fibres. Hope to hear from you and would like to be your friend. Take care,
