About me / About business or organisation:

Pooja Jeshang is an upcoming talented fashion designer who graduated from Birmingham City University in England last year. She is currently a freelance designer who has used her time effectively to launch her own brand "Pooja Jeshang" which specialises in ready to wear and evening wear. Pooja takes her inspiration from a range of sources in her everyday life whilst also being inspired by culture and society across the globe. I love to use the local sourced fabrics from the textile industry in Tanzania and mainly love using organic and hand woven cottons.

Career history / Company history:

Pooja Jeshang, was launched during Swahili Fashion Week (formerly the label was called "Saffron"). The company strives to make innovative ready to wear, refreshing the basic wear using locally sourced textiles such as Khanga and Kitenge. In the future, the label will hopefully grow gradually using fair trade and keep the sustainable fabrics ongoing.
