Pierre William Johnson is a project manager and consultant in fair/ethical trade and ethical biotrade. International expert, I facilitate the creation of ethical partnerships and the management of sustainable supply chains.
Author of two books (on Fair Trade and Alternatives to Biopiracy) and many articles, I work in English, French and Spanish, as well as Portuguese.
Career history / Company history:
Trained in social sciences, sustainable development and ecological economics, Pierre Johnson has 18 years of practical experience in coordinating or advising the development of fair trade and responsible value chains in France, Latin America and Africa. He has worked in Mexico (with the Belgian cooperation agency), Guatemala (for UNDP), Brazil (for the largest cooperatives of the countries), various parts of Africa, as well as Thailand (with the largest national NGO).
Creator of the first international community of practice on fair trade in 2001, he is one of the few associate members of WFTO, the International Fair Trade Association. Member of the French Committed for the World Summit on Sustainable Development in 2002, he has also been in charge since 2006 of mediation projects on the challenges of globalization with Bridge Initiative International. Since 2009, he is also associate researcher in ecological economics at Versailles University.
