New Project Manager, or similar, role within fashion, sustainability, creative strategy (freelance)
About me / About business or organisation:
Fool Dost is a new, conscious, womenswear line introduced in September 2015.
The designer behind the line, Laura Halliwell, creates considered womenswear pieces characterised by the meeting of nonchalant, relaxed minimalism with feminine, contemporary bohemia.
Shapes are inspired by natural forms, 1970s loose silhouettes and Japanese zen aesthetic.
Details evolve from the designer’s love of India, married with modern clean lines into interestingly constructed easy-wear garments. Using natural fibre materials, designs are carefully handmade by skilled tailors and artisans in northern India.
To promote fashion consumption as a way to responsibly develop economies, conscious practice is our core.
We collaborate with this workshop to support and grow the sustainable employment of the local community and to aid women’s economic empowerment in this rural area of India, the production aligns with the ten Fair Trade principles.
Our relationship with earth, how we exist in it and use it is a consistent narrative through-out the brand and the designs.
Fool Dost joins the important conversation on Slow Fashion; producing and consuming fashion thoughtfully.
