Julie-Anne Graham is creator of ethical label Curious Tales, which is based in Belfast. Curious Tales creates original one-off designer pieces from sustainable materials for men and women. The label combines a passion for vintage clothing, twisted tailoring and storytelling.
Career history / Company history:
Julie-Anne Graham studied Embroidered and Woven Textiles at Glasgow School of Art and Womenswear Fashion Design at Central Saint Martins, London. She has worked with Bronagh Griffin at Design Inc, assisting with design work for the exclusive men’s shirt brand One Like No Other. Her passion for recycled clothing grew from coordinating the Trash Fashion Project for New Belfast Community Arts Initiative for three years. This project worked with community groups and schools to teach design and sewing skills using recycled clothing as the raw materials. Curious Tales was formed in 2007 after Julie-Anne won a NESTA award to support Creative Entrepreneurs and blends her passion for fashion, recycling and creative writing. She has been part of a local writers group for the past 6 years.
