Designing in a sustainable way is one of my main priorities. I like to explore low impact methods of translating imagery onto fabrics to make timeless, unique, long-lasting products. I am also interested in teaching others the benefits of ethical design and how clothing and textiles are important and should not be thrown away as readily as they are.
I have a particular interest in making and upcycling clothing and have experience of both pattern cutting and draping on the stand.
I am a confident writer and thoroughly enjoy the reading and researching aspects of the design process.
I can competently use Photoshop and Illustrator to create a variety of different patterns and I am experienced in using a digital printer and laser cutter.
Other useful skills I have acquired include hand and machine embroidery, crocheting, traditional dyeing, screen printing and felting.
