organic wool, vibrant colour without chemicals, woollen weavers in the UK
About me / About business or organisation:
Currently part of the Crafts Council UKs HOTHOUSE 2011 scheme for emerging makers, I run Helen Foot Design alongside being an Associate Lecturer at Chelsea College of Art and Design and curating exhibitions ('MATERIAL' in June 2011 and 'COLLABORATE' in November 2011).
I have formed a new creative partnership with tailor Kate Millbank and we are looking to produce sustainable tweed and tailored products.
I graduated from the Royal College of Art with a Masters in woven textiles in 2010. With a mixture of industry and self set projects I developed my sense of colour and personal style, creating fabrics predominantly for fashion.
Career history / Company history:
I have previously done freelance designing for Alexander McQueen and Paul Smith, been the Studio Manager for Wallace Sewell and a Freelance weaver for Salt.
Over the years, I have done work placements for Ardalanish, Isle of Mull Weavers (2010), Holbrook Studios (2007), Wallace Sewell (2005 & 2006) and Margo Selby (2004).
