Retail outlets to stock fairly traded handwoven Andean textiles.
About me / About business or organisation:
I graduated in 2006 with a degree in Anthropology and ever since have travelled and worked my way around the world looking for the perfect job that combines community development, human rights and textiles.
As a volunteer in Peru last year, I finally found it, and cam back this year to manage a fair trade Weaving Project that supports Quechua women weavers from isolated rural communities in the Andes.
Career history / Company history:
Since April 2009 I have worked as Weaving Project Director for Awamaki, a Peruvian NGO based in Ollantaytambo in the Sacred Valley of Peru.
Previously, I combined travel and work in South America and Asia with both voluntary work and paid contracts for various charitable organsations in the UK, including the Fairtrade Foundation, Rugmark and Refugee Action.
