I am 44 and I have always wanted to be a fashion designer. I was accepted into design school when I was 19, but my funding didn't come through. However, my funding came through for college and I took an academic route. Today I am a archaeologist and I work for development. However, I am realizing that my passion for fashion and design is so strong and I am lucky enough to be in a place where I can fully live the dream. That's the great thing about being in your forties! You now have the foundation and experience to pursue your life long dreams. That's where I am at, jumping in and not worried about where I land!
Career history / Company history:
We have an antique store in southern Alberta called the Le Java Shop. Our store allows me a place to sell my designs and creations that I make from recycled boots and clothing.
