About me / About business or organisation:
Bottletop is a not for profit charity. Fundraising through fashion and music events with a focus on helping small and dynamic education initiatives, with a particular emphasis on sexual and reproductive health education.

Young people are increasingly at risk of sexually transmitted diseases such as HIV/AIDS. Sexual and reproductive health education really matters if young people are to be able to make the right choices in life.

Bottletop know each of the main beneficiary organisations that they support personally and have good relationships with the people running those operations.

Bottletop look for organisations that operate within the framework of local culture, and wherever possible, are managed by local people. Real progress can be made when people from those communities are involved in deciding what is needed most and what approach would be most effective.

Bottletop try to manufacture the products they sell in areas of the world where the education initiatives we support are based, providing incomes for people locally. That way they are helping themselves individually and as a community through education.
Career history / Company history:
Now in its 7th year, Bottletop continues to raise awareness and funds for the sexual education of young people.

Past Campaigns:

· Message in a bottletop.
October 28th 2002, the Foreign and Commonwealth Office held 'Message in a bottletop' which was hosted by Jack Straw. The Foreign Office was transformed into a centre of high fashion, throbbing live music and high tech fundraising.

This magical event was decorated by leading international interiors guru Martin Waller of 'Andrew Martin' in a colourful 'ethnic chic' themed event as this event generated over £40,000.

· The Mulberry Bottletop Campaign.
The Mulberry Bottletop Campaign was considered unique in terms of charity and business collaboration. Leading UK fashion house Mulberry embraced Bottletop, generating sales in excess of £250,000 and over £500,000 in publicity. The campaign was based around a range of products including bags, T-shirts and keyrings, which were distributed and sold throughout Mulberry stores worldwide.

Funds raised have played a vital role in facilitating the work of Students Partnership Worldwide in Zimbabwe, where its youth to youth education programmes are amongst the few remaining charitable outreach projects still working with the young people of Zimbabwe.

· The Malmaison Campaign.

Bottletop launched the first Sound Affects campaign in collaboration with the hotel group Malmaison in September 2005. Sound Affects Malmaison campaign featured the original Afrobeat CD as well as music accessories - iPod cases, iPod speaker cases, Bottletop radios, handbags and clothing.
