Nice people and opportunities in any aspect of the ethical fashion industry, helping, working or just being apart of fun projects.
About me / About business or organisation:
I have many interests, I like sewing, dancing, designing, writing, ethical fashion, photographing and swimming in lakes and the ocean...don't really know what else to say....
Career history / Company history:
I graduated from fashion school in Brisbane in 2006 with a degree in Fine Arts-Fashion. My final collection was a collaboration with Betony Dircks and consisted of colourful creations in organic cotton, bamboo and soy. Since graduation, I have gained experience working for Australian and international textile and fashion designers and artists. Roles and experiences have varied from photoshoots to production. A defining moment for me was curating an ethical fashion parade in Brisbane, showcasing environmentally and ethically conscious Australian labels. In 2008 I moved to London. My continuing interest in ethical fashion led me to designing for womenswear label My Only One. I have recently moved back to Australia and I endeavour to unearth the dark complexities of the fashion industry and prove that with open thinking and ingenious design you can create vivid aesthetics without compromising ethics. I enjoy executing deconstructive design, playing with silhouettes and unusual colour schemes.
