Sustainable fabrics and manufacturing opportunities
About me / About business or organisation:
I am currently preparing my Spring/Summer 2010 collection for Who's Next in Paris therefore I am searching for ethical fabric manufacturers and clothing manufacturers through the EFF website. I am also designing a new collection, which will be made mostly from Sri Lankan lace. I will be working on the lace with the help of Export Development Board of Sri Lanka - EDB, which is the Sri Lankan government department that the local crafts come under. I will be working on the garments with the craftswomen from the Power of Hands Foundation and it was all made possible by Linda Speldewinde, the founder and director of Academy of Design in Sri Lanka. I am going to Sri Lanka in november to finish the collection and exhibit it at Colombo Fashion Week.
Career history / Company history:
After getting a BFA Fashion Design from Otis College of Art and Design I worked as knits design assistant at Nautica Womens in New York and as womenswear designer for Motivi in Italy. I was a 2008 winner of the Polish edition of IYFE competition organised by the British Council. I am currently developing an environmentally and socially aware fashion brand and working on made-to-order high heels inspired by Polish mountain shoes. I am cooperating with Polish highlanders, who use an ancient technique: making a shoe out of one piece of leather. With my company - Osh, I am adding a contemporary edge to the ideas of local craftsmen and helping to preserve dying art according to fair trade guidelines. I am promoting my products by selling them in stores worldwide, which focus on promoting unique and handmade products. I am currently stocking at CC's Dressing Room in London and Church in Los Angeles.

Hi Olga. It was a young Polish designer called Beata Guzinska. She made outfits in the Polish tartan and used it as trimming. Im waiting to hear how she got on. Incidentally my Polish tartan is easily my most popular and has sold to the Polish diaspora in 6 countries..
