former custom apparel entrepreneur and biz owner with eyes opened by street up and nonlinear formal education. Currently a sustainablle fashion activist with a passion for designing original pieces from second tier supplies. I've a waste reduction ethos for the recycouture dresses that populate the chapters of fashionRIP project . Fashion is an illustration of evolution that continues to delight.

    I thought there was something familiar about you Deborah but I guess after reading over 2000 profiles Im a bit hazy (I joined back about number 129).

    Ive had a flurry of interest from Susan Boyle customers in the USA who found out that I have the West Lothian tartan (the county she comes from) Now SuBo scarves are the in thing. Ive just sent off the first cheque to the 'White Fathers' ( The Missionaries for Africa in Great Britain) which is the charity her family support.
    Im currently working on a cultural project with the Japanese Consulate centred around a fashion show featuring my 'Four Seasons' range of tartans. It is being designed so that it can be featured in any country in the world so look out.
    I dont know if theres much interest in soccer in Seattle but the USA are going to the World Cup in South Africa in May next year and it will be watched by over 3 billion people. What an opportunity. Proceeds to 'untouchable' children in India
    Ive just finished designs for Brazil, Argentina and South Korea tartans which gives me tartan designs for 16 of the 32 competiing nations at our pre-World Cup fashion show in Cape Town. The first tartan ever to be woven in Africa came of the loom last week and the rest will follow shortly. Life is interesting.

    funny this!
    i am going to the media lab shortly to edit the lecture video bit and there is a friend working there that is all about soccer. we have a local tournament that he is involved with as seattle is very multi cultural and the meet up is a growing event.
    What is it you would like me to do aside from letting people know what is happening. Anything specific?
    Species on the Verge is the first chapter of fashionRIP Project a victorian mourning for loss of biodiversity and the video is on Youtube (thisall volunteer, one day do or die shoot has a few things i would change but under circumstances worked well!) The garments are all recyCouture garments but for Fair Trade could be cool to use a few leftovers from tartan cuts!
