Sourcing and Supplying | Spotlight on Sourcing

This group has been created to help connect suppliers and manufacturers with brands, designers and entrepreneurs and to connect anyone interested in liaising with others or sharing best practice in relation to sustainable sourcing in the fashion sector.

Created in 2009 when the Ethical Fashion Forum launched its Spotlight on Sourcing initiative, it includes all the presentations and notes from the Spotlight on Sourcing seminar and workshop series.

There is a discussion forum here for each of the topics that were covered, from working with co-operatives to sourcing from different regions in the world.

Hi everyone,

We are delighted to be taking part again in the Ethical Fashion Source Expo this year. It is a really fantastic event! I really encourage everyone to try to make it, whether you have something to exhibit or as a visitor to the show.

Also, we recently re-launched our online eco-boutique:

Take a look and let us know what you think!!!

Regards,
Claudia

Hi there,
I am looking for a supplier of bamboo jersey and lightweight organic cotton jersey and linen jersey in India that will supply smallish quantities for this first season. (200 - 400 metres). Also any factories using organic vegetable dyes and garment washes.
Any help or contacts would be so hugely appreciated.
Many thanks,

Tracey x

Hello, Does anyone have any experience of importing fabric and UK import taxes? I have had a look on businesslink.gov.uk and it seems very involved. Is anyone able to tell me about your experiences and real tangible figures? Thanks, Helen

Hi,
I am based in Indonesia (Bandung, Java) currently trying to source organic fabrics/dyes/printing and have found it very challenging despite there being a very large textile and garment manufacture industry! anybody have any links whatsoever?
thanks!
Have generally not found any SOURCING IN INDONESIA topics yet here (correct me if i'm wrong).

Hello, I'm a London based designer-maker, looking for places to get some of my fashion pieces produced and manufactured. I don't really want to go abroad for this, due to air miles, I prefer to keep things local but any information or contacts shared would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you to anyone who is able to share this information with me.
Holly.
