Thanks for the post Jacqueline! My book Eco Fashion should be in bookstores in another week I hope, and available in the US, UK, Spain and Italy. The website - www.ecofashiontalk.com is continuing to grow and expand, with excerpts from the book, overviews of eco designers each week, an events listing and every expanding resources.

Salaula: the world of secondhand clothing and Zambia
By Karen Tranberg Hansen

I am tackling this mammoth of a book..its reasonable in size but quite academic in its context...but so so educational. I am reading it as part of my masters degree but am finding the background information on secondhand clothing industry is very very interesting.

If you are interested i the SHC industry, just in African fashion or the movement of clothing fro past to present then i encourage you to get hold of it.

enjoy!

Hey Haute Verte Couture and all you lovely newbies to the book club WELCOME!!

As requested and also to give a little bit of info for all new members this is how the book club works.

I have started a with a couple books and ask you all to please follow the format

1) add a discussion (as its easier for people to comment their thoughts back rather than on the comment wall)
2) add a picture of the book
3) make sure you title it with author
4) give your personal review on the book ( i took from amazon but please give your own as this was simply for example purposes)
5) your score card out of 5 please -
5 = excellent, 4 = very good, 3 = good, 2 = average, 1 = poor

and most importantly read, learn and enjoy! AND TELL YOUR FRIENDS to join too!!!
