One thing the speeches reminded me of is that there is no equivalent for buying from UK sources.
Within months of the seminar, Britains last staff owned shoe factory - Equity Shoes of Leicester - had been bought for scrap and closure off the receiver and it didn't get a mention here or in the mainstream trade press. I hope plenty of ethical fashion retailers buy from the remaining UK factories and keep them open - possibly with some encouragement here.
