hey does anyone have any contacts who supply recycled beads?? i would need quite alot of them - colours style is not an issue right now

Hi all,
I run a textiles recycling resource in the South West. We receive textiles from the general public which we sort and grade for re-sale, re-use, further recycling etc. We also run swaps, fashion shows, re-made events and projects to change attitude to recyclng cothes and the landfill issue, as well as very cheap textiles retail unit.
I am looking into the possibilities of supplying schools, colleges, students, designers etc with our surplus (of which there is lots!) Anybody interested?
As a graduate from LCF I spent my years at college trawling markets, charity shops, attics etc up and down the country looking for affordable items to recycle, I was always frustrated by the lack of resources. Well now I am in a position to do something about it!
I am currently developing and testing out a textiles recycling model that could be rolled out in other areas/communities to significantly reduce landfill as well as supply fantastic resources (we really do recieve the weird and wonderful!). I would interested to know if there is anyone else out there doing similar? or what level of interest there may for for a suppliers of textilesand clothes for re-use/recycling.

I would suggest tailor shops for the remnant suit fabrics. We came across this interesting phenomena about tailor shops all around the world having tons of scraps leftover from their client alterations. Crazy, but worth checking out! Let us know the process of your search.

Hello

I am a student at London College of Fashion going on to my 3rd year. For my final year I need to create a womenswear collection, my main focus is be as eco-friendly as possible but I am having a hard time finding organic tailoring fabric (for suiting and such), also having a hard time finding good recycled fabrics I can use that are in the same category. Would anyone have any suggestions, maybe I am missing something. Thanks a bunch.
