Hi, I am new to this group. My name is Eleanor Tighe - I am a phd student currently based in Dhaka, Bangladesh. My research looks at the actions of multi-stakeholder initiatives to address issues of social compliance in clothing supply chains.

I am also interested in the possibilities for production and sourcing of shoes by workers employed in good living conditions with fair wages.

Please get in contact if you can offer me any advice and direction :)

Hello - we are new to this group.

We are Fairtrade fashion label Eternal Creation and operate out of our Fairtrade certified (Fair Trade Forum India) manufacturing workshop in the Indian Himalayas.  We also represent the workshop - The Himalaya Tailoring Centre - and are currently looking for new labels who are interested in having their collection produced with us.

Please contact us at shop@eternalcreation.com if you are interested or have any questions regarding manufacturing and production at the Himalaya Tailoring Centre.

Hi All,

I'm looking for ethical and fair-trade manufacturers and suppliers interested in expanding their business in the far east by participating in the Blueprint trade fair in Singapore this summer. This is an exciting opportunity as I have a lot of eastern designer's who are interested in outsourcing to green factories in South East Asia. Can the interested parties please mail me on i.thopte@fashion.arts.ac.uk asap?

Thanks,

Ishwari

Hi guys,

I am currently an intern at a UK Ethical Clothing company and previously graduated in Textiles Design.

I am about to embark on a 6 month round the world trip and will be in Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia and Nepal from June - Sepmtember this year.

I am very interested in all the fantastic projects happening across the globe and hope on my return to get involved myself. Not wishing to let this opportiunity of travelling pass me by, I wondered if there was anybody based in these areas that would be willing to allow me to visit their projects and see what they are doing and how they work?

I would be extremely grateful!!

Thank you very much!!

Hannah

Can anyone help me answer the following question?...

What is the most ethical item of clothing you know of?

Please consider both social issues and environmental issues. I'm writing an essay for a tutor at uni and any help would be greatly appreciated Thanks,

Kate

Hi, Im a fashion Accessories designer, I am starting up a company selling handbags made from recycled and sustainable materials. I will be in Hong Kong from June 20th for a week or so and would really like to get the chance to see some people doing similiar things or anything to do with recycled materials. If anyone has any information I would really really appreciate it. Thanx.
Lucy.

Hi Vienda

We can supply you with Fairtrade certified cotton voile. We mainly use and sell a shirting weight handloom cotton, but for our summer collections we also use cotton voile - I can send you samples if you like. Normally our fabrics are woven to order, but we do currently have stock in the UK of a range of colours and white. george

It was unfortunate that I could not attend the seminar. We are based in Gujarat, India. We support an develop co-operatives producing 'almost carbon neutral' fabrics - cottons, silke, wool and blends. We also produce furnishings and garments. I would be very interested in working with designers and wholesellers. Please visit my profile and our website www.moralfibre-fabrics.com for more info.
