US Regulations of Sustainable or Organic Fabrics

I was asked to give a presentation at a conference on US laws governing sustainable or organic textile manufacturing & farming.  The conference is in Oct, and so I've decided to use this invitation as an opportunity to dive more into the world of sustainable / eco fashion. 

Does anyone know a good resource to use as a starting point for this research?
