Surplace fabric availability for student recycling project

I will be running a project with my Fashion BA students focusing on re-appropriation of fabrics and garments addressing the 3 r's: reduce, reuse and recycle.

 

Does anyone have any contacts that would supply us with surplace fabrics that we could reuse?

I'm not sure when you need the fabrics by but Offset Warehouse should be up and running by the start of the uni terms, so we may be able to help out. In any case, we've been looking to do some presentations on ethical fashion and fabrics at universities, so perhaps we could tie-in to your project somehow?

Hi Sue,

I am leaving for my annual fabric sourcing trip to India this coming week and was informed by one of my vendors that he has loads and loads of organic cotton fabric remnants to discard at rock bottom prices!! He needs to make space at the storage warehouse ASAP.

You could perhaps contact Catharina from Eden Studio in London, they are a small production manufacturer that often donate their fabric off-cuts to schools for projects. email Catharina at [e-mail]

i could contribute some of my fabric off-cuts depending on the amount you are looking for.
there should be many young designers who would be happy to have their fabric reclaimed for college projects.
