Johari’s Spring Summer 2010 collection celebrates the Maasai people of Kenya. Noble, aristocratic, freedom-loving and independent, the Maasai lead a simple life, often spending hours engaged in self-adornment under a tree in the heat of the day. The women and children make intricate beaded jewellery while the men create exotic hairstyles for each other.
References to these rituals are at the heart of this collection. Hand printed imagery of beaded neckpieces and patterns grace the soft jersey fabric, while metal embellishments decorate and enhance the rich colour palette.
So come along to our launch night at Che Camille for an exclusive preview and a chance to buy before anyone else!
